What this category means for a Burrow collector
Supplies are the cheapest insurance in the hobby. A Burrow rookie that arrives in a bubble mailer with no sleeve can lose a grade point in transit, and a card stored loose in a box will pick up edge wear it never recovers from. The gear is standard across the hobby — the part worth getting right is matching the holder to what you are actually doing with the card.
- Penny sleeve first, always. The sleeve protects the surface; whatever rigid holder goes around it protects the corners and edges. Never put a raw card straight into a toploader.
- Graders want semi-rigid holders, not toploaders. PSA’s published submission instructions specify a card in a penny sleeve inside a semi-rigid holder — the Card Saver style — so it can be removed without stressing the card.
- Card thickness decides the holder. Standard modern cards fit 35pt holders; thick stock, patch cards and relics need the heavier point sizes, and forcing a thick card into a 35pt is how corners get dinged.
- Magnetic one-touch holders are for display and storage, not submission. They are the right home for a card you have decided not to grade.
