What this category means for a Burrow collector

A graded card is the same cardboard inside a sealed holder with a number on the label: authenticated, condition-assessed and comparable to every other copy at the same grade. For Burrow that matters most on the 2020 chrome rookies, where surface and centering vary enough that the grade, not the card, is what the market is pricing.

  • The three graders use different scales. PSA runs a 1–10 scale with no 9.5. BGS publishes four subgrades and reserves Black Label for a 10 across all four. SGC sits on a 1–10 scale with Pristine 10 above the standard 10.
  • Every slab has a certification number. Check it against the grader’s own online verification lookup before you buy — the cert should return the exact card, grade and year shown in the listing photo.
  • Grading is a decision, not a default. Submission cost is fixed and the grade is not; a raw card with a visible edge or centering problem rarely comes back worth the fee.
